The Brief
A mid-market IT services company relocating from a smaller Bandra office to a Pune tech park needed a full lighting fit-out for 8,000 sqft across two floors. Requirements: 400-500 lux average across work floors, 500 lux in meeting rooms with dimming, warmer 3000K for reception + cafeteria, and no glare complaints from their previous install.

Outcome
The client's facility team ran independent lux measurements two weeks post-install — average 465 lux across open work floors and 520 lux in meeting rooms, comfortably above the 400/500 targets. Six months in, no driver failures reported, no colour-shift complaints, no employee glare feedback. Total connected load for the fit-out came in at 6.8 kW — 34% lower than the retrofit T5 fluorescent scheme the tenant had originally quoted.
“Solid State Lights delivered the full fit-out spec on time, and their team came out to Pune during commissioning to help our contractor validate the panel layout. Six months in, zero complaints from staff.” — Facility Manager, IT services client (name withheld on request)
Key Learnings
- For open-plan Indian offices, 0.85 W per sqft continues to hit the 400-500 lux target with modern 36W panels.
- Meeting rooms benefit from dimmable drivers even when clients don't ask — presentation glare is the #1 complaint we address post-install.
- Reception + cafeteria at 3000K next to 4000K work areas is fine as long as the two zones are physically separated by a wall or partition.
